ALA is dedicated to fighting lung disease in all forms, with a special emphasis on environmental health. For the past decade, ALA has partnered with U.S. EPA to provide education on radon. ALA and its affiliates offer various public education and outreach programs and materials to promote radon testing and remediation.

This information service provides consumers with advice and information about the steps they need to take to protect their families from radon. Information can be automatically mailed upon request, or callers can request a return call from the Information Specialist at a specific time. NEHA has been involved with the radon issue for a number of years, offering training in Radon Resistant New Construction to professionals around the country. This network can assist in efforts of grassroots outreach and enhance the value of the credential on a local level.

The National Hispanic Indoor Air Quality Helpline provides bilingual (Spanish/English) information about indoor air pollutants that consumers may find inside their homes, offices, or schools. Consumers can call this helpline to receive information about radon and a coupon for a radon home test for the purpose of mitigating radon contamination of indoor air. The NHIAQ Helpline is a program of the National Alliance for Hispanic Health. The mission of the Alliance is to improve the health and well-being of all Hispanics in the United States.

Information about the certification process, including applications, education requirements, approved training courses, exam guidance, and a listing of all approved Measurement and Mitigation courses (Initial Training and Continuing Education) are posted to the website.
